IoT Dataset is an open repository of curated, labelled datasets for research and machine learning on the Internet of Things. It was incubated at the Institute as part of its work in technology and open science, and has been active since 2025.

The repository brings together synthetic and real-world collections across industrial IoT, predictive maintenance, cybersecurity, smart homes, healthcare devices, and smart grids. Every dataset is research ready, labelled, and documented, and the real-world collections are verified and cited to their source.

All datasets are released under an open licence (CC0) and are free to use, so that researchers and data engineers can build, train, and test their models without barriers. The repository already serves a community of more than a thousand researchers worldwide.

What it offers

  • A growing library of labelled IoT datasets, free and openly licensed.
  • Both synthetic data and verified real-world collections.
  • Time series and sensor data ready for machine learning.
  • Coverage of industrial, security, health, and smart-home domains.
